I have had a busy summer. I've spent it all away from the UK, travelling. I flew to Crete and then wandered up through the Dodecanese islands, ending in Ikaria.
Then we (Ottavio and I) went to Milan, and spent a month in his family's house near Lake Mggiore, a magical place.
Then a quick visit to the south of Italy, Puglia, and back on the boat to re-visit one little island which we both loved and were thinking about moving to. Well, after a few more days there away from the height of the summer we decided that we weren't yet so decrepit and disillusioned with life in the UK that we would be happy in such a backwater. So it's back home again, and now we get on with life.
Funny, though, how stressful just being here is; people here now seem so divided and hateful towards each other, and this seems to permeate through the daily interactions in the streets and in the shops.
Still, here we are for good or bad. I have plans to leave again next year, and to follow my heart in terms of my future. So meanwhile, here's a photo or two from the summer.
